Remembrance Sunday

Today Britain pays tribute to members of the armed forces who have died in major conflicts.
Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom on the second Sunday in November, which is the Sunday nearest to 11 November Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War in 1918. Remembrance Sunday is held "to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts".
In the United Kingdom and some Commonwealth countries you can see many people wearing a poppy on the days around Remembrance Day
