Jänner is the Austrian name for the first month of the year. In Germany it's Januar. It's one of the few differences between the German spoken in Austria, southern Germany, Switzerland, South Tirol on the one hand and Germany on the other.
Jänner is used just like Januar:
Im Januar fahren wir in Urlaub. = Im Jänner fahren wir in Urlaub.
Heute ist der 28. Januar. = Heute ist der 28. Jänner.
The second month is called Feber in Austria and Februar in Germany.
The rest of the year there are no differences in the names of the months any more.
Monate und Wochentage auf Englisch großschreiben!
Don't forget to capitalize the names of the months in English just as you would capitalize the names of the days:
The first month of the year is January. Today is Monday. etc.
