einfallen

Es fiel mir gerade ein. It just occurred to me./It just crossed my mind.

to think (of), to come up with sth.:
Ich weiß nicht, was ich tun soll. Fällt dir etwas ein? I don't know what to do. Can you think of something?
Es fällt mir einfach nichts ein. I simply can't come up with anything.

Redensarten Phrases:
Das würde ich mir nicht im Traum einfallen lassen. I wouldn't dream of doing that.
Was fällt dir ein! What do you think you are doing!/How dare you!


2. (in ein Land) einfallen  to invade, to raid (a country)
Die Streitkräfte fielen in das Flüchtlingslager ein. The armed forces invaded the refugee camp.
